At 6:01am on November 13, 2009, Maltese Mom said…: Hi Gwen, Do some home therapy on Sparkles. I know when Rio could not walk he dragged his little body around. Vet said she was against any surgery because he was small. I would bathe him in warm water and massage his hind legs. Then on the floor I would massage his legs, do slow bicycle movements, and gently move his legs back and forth. I believe it took about two or three months and he was walking again. However, he could not jump. Rio recognized his limitations and from that time on I would carry him in a doggie purse so he wouldn't over exert himself. Rio was a real trooper and the only disease we could not conquer was the doggie alzehmiers. Pets are family and its sad when we have to see them go through this...oh but they are stronger than us humans. Keep strong and have faith. Oliver sent you a friend request.....
