About Me:
I am a graphic designer during most days & when I'm not at work I love adventures of all sorts - mt. biking, mt. climbing, kayaking, making stained glass creations, getting together with family & friends, & I esp. loved hanging out with my old dog!
My old girl, Chia passed away on 6/30/08. I miss her dearly!
Rest in Peace 10/11/92-6/30/08
What is one thing your dog does that reminds you to open your heart and love more deeply?
Being a care-taker for an old dog was sometimes an emotionally draining experience but it was something I needed to do for my most beautiful, wonderful dog, Chia.
A new journey begins with Angel - Angel is now officially a certified therapy dog. She's doing great with the hand signal commands & loves visiting with people and other dogs too!!! (Oh, Did I mention she is deaf.)
Oliver sends his love. Migraines have been my pain since I was 14 yrs old. Nothing has worked for me until I went to see a neurologist. I have so many triggers that I have to be extra careful. The culprit is sometimes the weather (too cold or too hot), certain foods, all perfumes and certain candle scents, cigarette smoke, glaring lights, disturbed sleep. My doctor started me on Frova. Which I take at the beginning of a migraine. It works, but I also take Topamax at bedtime. Since I started Topamax on 10/19 I haven't had a migraine until the episode last weekend. I was getting migraines every week. I take Frova only if I feel one coming on during the day. But, that hasn't been the case since I've been taking Topamax. I just try to be extra careful. It really stinks getting a migraine, I can't plan anything. Let me know how you are doing with the acupuncture. Good Luck.

Hi Sarah,
No, I didn't dress Oliver up this year.He really doesn't like it so I gave him a break this time around. Sorry to hear about your migraines. I've had migraines all my life. I started to see a neurologist about a month ago. My migraines are really bad and I get the aura, flickering lights and sick to my stomach. I always end up vomiting. I woke up with one this morning after not having one for about a month. I've been taking medication which is helping. However, our weather dipped really cold last night and early last night. Drop in temperatures is one of my many triggers. Hope you are feeling better. Oliver is playing doctor and resting up with me. I know alot about migraines (having suffered 33 yrs.) so if you have questions feel free to ask me anything. Take Care. Elsa P.S Ollie sends hugs to Angel : )
Hi Sarah & Angel,
Long time no hear ! How are you? Oliver and I are doing just fine. We are just checking in on one of our first and dearest friend here on this site, Drop us a line. Have a wonderful weekend. ; )
Hi Sarah. thanks for your comments. What a lovely dog you had. My Princess went to doggie heaven last year already. When I adopted her it was really with the idea that I would keep her for a little while and let her last days be a little better than life at the shelter where she was scheduled to be euthanized. I wanted to hold her in her last moments which I was able to do with my Vet. It was the hardest thing that I had ever done but she was totally miserable in life and she deserved at least that. I know have a wonderful terrier mix Sandi who I adopted 5 months ago from the shelter. She is the love of my life and is so much fun. She was used for backyard breeding and so even though only 2 yrs. old she has had many litters. She was pregnant when someone dumped her at the shelter. She was aborted and the pups were destroyed. What a life this poor baby has had but now she has love, squirrels to chase and her own home. Sometimes I wonder about people in this world! Thanks again for your comments. Mirja
Sarah, comforting is the right word. Thats how it feels "very comforting" that our babies final resting place is kept alive by the blooming flowers with the visits and thoughts.
Have a good day. Ollie sends his love to Angel.
Hi Sarah,
How are you? Mom & I went to visit Rio. He has so many beautiful flowers around him. I walked and sniffed and listened to Mom say a little prayer. She placed a bouquet of flowers, we stayed a little and told Rio we would be back.
xxooxoxo Ollie and Elsa
Hi Sarah,
How are you and Angel? Oliver is set to visit the vet in about three weeks. They will do a BUN test again to monitor his kidney levels. He has been eating his special diet....sometimes he woofs it down other times he doesn't want it. The vet said I could mix in a little chicken or turkey just to give it flavor. Overall, Ollie seems to like it. Keep me in the loop with your busy life. Take Care Elsa
